Helping Hand

By Michele Sorensen

PROMPT — I am grateful for ...

In these days and times, with so much sadness and fear going around, I like to take a few minutes every day and remind myself of all the things I am grateful for.

I'm grateful that I work for a company that has a mission to help the poor and needy, and actually do what they say they will do.

I'm grateful for my children and that they are well, mentally and physically, raising their families and doing their best.

I'm grateful for my husband, my best friend and look forward to the next 20 or so years that I get to spend with him.

I'm grateful for family and friends, near and far and for the opportunity to spend time with them, care for them, and love them.

It's easy to get caught up in the day to day of life, not seeing the beauty and little miracles that happen every day. A miracle can be a smile that lightens someone's load, a helping hand that provides that courage for another to take the next step to healing one's self.

I'm grateful to God, that I get the opportunity to cherish life, all life, and love and be loved.
