Everyone Has Covid

By Suzanne D. Miller

PROMPT—During Covid-19 ...

Everyone has Covid

Hyperbole but true

Everyone has Covid

I’m boosted - hey - are you?

Everyone has Covid

Yet restaurants still fill

(yet Everyone has Covid)

You look a little ill

Everyone has Covid

but basketball goes on

Everyone has Covid

Oh, her? So sad, she’s gone.

Everyone has Covid

The hospital staffs so stressed!

Everyone has Covid

I think they need a rest

Everyone has Covid

(well everyone but me)

Everyone has Covid

We’re all fine, can’t you see?!

Suzanne D. Miller lives in South Carolina. When not scribbling poetry, she leads EssayFaire, a writing and essay coaching firm specializing in college applications and research. An economist who ended up homeschooling, she believes society suffers when analytical people and creative people do not cross-pollinate. She attempts to rectify that through poetry.
