I Feel Like a Sandwich

By Arianna Sebo

PROMPT — Ask Me.

How do you feel?

I feel like a vase of flowers

wide mouth clay vase

Muted mud colours

Yellow daisy flowers

Plastic stem as long as an arm

Nylon fabric bright but dusty

How do you feel?

I feel like a broom

Bristles full of dust

Dead skin cells and long hairs from a Persian

From the 90s Sticker still attached to the red plastic broom handle

Bristles bent and obviously

Never cleaned

How do you feel?

I feel like a wet tub

Slick with fresh hard water shower droplets

Persistent blue tub ring surrounding my edges

Dye from the blue and white patterned bed sheets created by a designer who supposedly killed herself

How do you feel?

I feel like a Christmas movie

A Disney production with dogs as the stars played every month for the amusement of a pug whose mental atmosphere is deeply cared for

I feel like a sandwich.
