My Dreams

By Anita Nahal

PROMPT — No one noticed ...

No one noticed

that the warm whiff

of deep green mint sauce

in roasted brick red potatoes

speckled with a generous spoonful

of tart-sweet tamarind sauce

and whisked smooth yogurt

sprinkled with a pinch

of ground tangy spices

in an earthen, grounded bowl

you and I bought

at one street shop eons ago,

turns and tosses my dreams.
