By Lynn White
PROMPT—No one noticed ...
She lay there still
quiet in her flesh,
and her covering of skin
though her heart was drumming
loudly
and in her head she was screaming
louder
and louder still.
But still
her flesh
and skin
were quiet.
Those parts that can be seen
were quiet.
So no one noticed the noise.
