PROMPT — What is Love?

She’s sailing to new

sunrises today

launching a journey

already made -

in heart, mind and dreams -

to places and people -

towards a life believed

to be needed to discover

who she already is ….

Sighing as the ship departs

for innumerable

uncharted horizons

he wanders across

the wind-blown sands

remembering oddly enough

to him, it seems,

all the countless truths

that were somehow left unsaid ….

He wonders if she’ll

ever remember him

she wonders if she will ever forget

the times and words and hearts

so easily shared between

two lovers of life’s magic

seduced by the ever-present

beauty of now ….

Through rains, winds and calms

she’ll drift – the only

true compass her heart -

he prays to his many gods

hoping she finally learns

that home isn’t merely

from where we came

but rather with whom

we choose to be
