Burial

By U-Meleni Mhlaba-Adebo

PROMPT — Despite ...

MAYBE blood

will be sacrifice

to the God’s of Pain and Suffering

maybe this blood will scorch the earth

scorch dis-ease

from this world

tick tock

clock sounds once soothing

sting like death knells

being fetal in a bed

smells familiar

like a coffin i saw once

will this be the time

i finally bury

the old

version of myself
